Pico Rivera, Los Angeles County
A Ford assembly plant opened in Pico Rivera in 1957 and built cars until 1980. Northrop then took over the site and, behind tight security, developed the B-2 stealth bomber there through the 1980s and 1990s. The complex was cleared after Northrop left, and a large shopping center now occupies the land along Washington Boulevard.
